New Jersey Camp Jaycee

New Jersey Camp Jaycee is a nonprofit overnight camp in Effort, Pennsylvania, in the Pocono Mountains, serving people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The program now enrolls campers aged 18 and older and runs four two-week sessions from late June through mid-August, with one-week options in the first two sessions. Highly trained counselors and specialists lead a daily blend of sports, arts and outdoor experiences tailored to all ability levels: morning activities such as soccer, dodgeball or crafts; afternoons of swimming, paddle-boating or dance; and evening campfires, talent shows and theme nights. The camp focuses on ability rather than limitation, building independence, teamwork and lasting friendships. A year-round administrative office operates in North Brunswick, New Jersey, and financial assistance is available.
