Create a Play Summer Camp

Create A Play is a one-week day camp presented by Compass Rose Theater at Maryland Hall in Annapolis, Maryland, for children ages 5 to 12. Campers wear several theatrical hats over the week - playwright, collaborator, actor and designer - as they develop an original play from scratch. They build dynamic characters with clear objectives, solve staging problems creatively, and design sets and characterizations that support their imagined world. The week ends with a final sharing of the completed piece for family and friends. The camp meets Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm, in Room 301 and is capped at 15 students with a minimum enrollment of 5. Registration is handled through Maryland Hall's Arts People ticketing system.
