"Wives and Lovers" is a new debut cabaret show co-created by singer Adrianne Hick and Sheldon Forrest. It explores themes of love, sex, relationships, flirtation, seduction, and infidelity through jazz standards by Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael, Fats Waller, Walter Donaldson and Louis Prima; theater songs by Jule Styne, Cy Coleman, Charles Strouse, Kurt Weill and Jerry Bock; and pop songs by Burt Bacharach, Don Henley, Elton John, Fiona Apple, and Journey.
Adrianne Hick is a native New Yorker. She attended The College of William and Mary in Virginia before making her way back up to the city that never sleeps, and began working in plays and musicals throughout the area. She has been named a "Breakout Talent" by Backstage Magazine for her work this fall in the NYMF production of "The Family Fiorelli". She has had the pleasure of training with the likes of Linda Lavin, was cast as the romantic lead in the New York staged reading of "Dancing With Time" a new musical by Charles Strouse (Annie, Bye Bye Birdie), and is currently booked in a touring production of Les Miserables this summer.
