THE REHEARSAL ROOM: ON THE ROCKS Set for Don't Tell Mama, 10/23

The Rehearsal Room: "On The Rocks" The Music of Gomez and Lyles will be presented at Don't Tell Mama NYC, 343 West 46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues on Thursday, October 23rd, 2014.

Billed as an eclectic night of songs, stories, and spirits, "On the Rocks" will feature songs from contemporary musical theatre duo David Gomez and John-Michael Lyles. The show will be directed by Rebeca Rad with Musical Direction by Michael Uselmann.

John-Michael Lyles and David Gomez are two dreamers from the prairie who met at Pace University as BFA MT majors and began writing together under the mentorship of Ryan Scott Oliver. Since then their songs have been heard at Joe's Pub (You Wish), 54 Below (Hatched 2013), New World Stages (Murderous Mondays), Sidewalk Café, Birdland, and Urban Stages. They were selected for the NYMF concerts Part Of it All in 2012, and Explorers in 2013. Their musical Oasis received a developmental reading through Pace New Musicals in January 2014. David is now pursuing his MFA at NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, and as an actor John-Michael was most recently seen in Jasper in Deadland at The Prospect. They're stoked to be back in The Rehearsal Room with so many old and new friends.

THE REHEARSAL ROOM is a recurring concert series that features up and coming writers and composers. Each show will present innovative work, NYC premiers and electric performances. THE REHEARSAL ROOM is produced by Ryan Scott Oliver and Nessie Nankivell, and is run in conjunction with Ryan Scott Oliver and Lindsay Mendez's ACTOR THERAPY.

Performing at the concert are Andi Alhadeff, Matthew Condello, Brandon Contreras, Danae Ervin, Andrea Ross, Sarah Hamaty, F Michael Haynie, Brandon Kalm, Amy Marik, Joe Ogren, Danny Quadrino, Lucia Roderique and André Torquato.

10pm show, Doors open at 9:30pm
