Photo Flash: A 'Hole' New DeBlanks Premieres 2/7
Laugh your (BODY PART)_____ off as "Brenda Braxton presents Villain: DeBlanks" continues February 7, and performs the first Sunday of each month at 7:30pm at The Triad NYC. It's "madcap hilarity" (BroadwayWorld.com) for a cause: a portion of proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of New York.
A Time Out NY Critics' Pick written by Billy Mitchell, "Villain: DeBlanks" is the uproarious improvisational comedy where the cast says words you put in their mouths. The audience provides nouns, adjectives, verbs, etc. (the wilder, the better), and the actors provide the laughs-uncensored and unrehearsed-as they enact the deep-space adventures of Captain Zabitsh and her crew. It's adult "Mad Libs" meets "Spaceballs" meets "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" -- and it's never the same show twice!
Hailed as an "off-the-hook inclusive comedy...with big laughs" by KABC-LA, "Villain: DeBlanks" amazing February 7 cast includes brilliantly funny Olivier-winner Lesli Margherita ("Matilda," "Dames at Sea"), the hunky, hilarious Jim Newman (The Village People's Cowboy, "Hands on a Hardbody"), playfully clever Kate Wetherhead ("Clever Little Lies," co-creator "Submissions Only"), riotously fun Trent Armand Kendall ("Bat Boy," "Into the Woods"), delightful, mercurial Hank Morris ("Or So the Story Goes" web series, "Something in the Way" music video), and the unpredicably entertaining Eddie Capuano ("My Big Gay Italian Wedding," "Incongruence"). After appearing in three benefit performances of "Villian DeBlanks," Brenda Braxton is delighted to announce this periodic run currently scheduled for six months -- November through April -- starring some of the funniest people in New York. Ms. Braxton will join the show in April following her run in "After Midnight" aboard Norwegian Escape.
