KT Sullivan brings her run of "I Can Cook: When Barbara Met Wally" to the Birdland Theater in NYC for a 4 night run (Feb. 27th - March 2nd).

Featuring the late Wally Harper's arrangements of songs sung by Barbara Cook... Ms. Sullivan is the perfect vehicle for these pieces as performed by a theatrically trained soprano.

The show, and these tunes, kept an appropriately light hearted tone throughout with songs like "I Love A Piano", "I Can Cook", "Better With A Band", & "Sweet Georgia Brown". The music and KT's bubbly soprano kept the audience buoyant and allowed for the more tender moments to really take hold and stand out...

A lovely "Will He Like Me" kept a slowly driven/expectant pace and showcased KT's acting talents. A well suited version of "Dancing In The Dark" was a standout in the realm of standards, while "Ain't Love Easy" took an almost 70's folk ballad style beautifully executed by Ms. Sullivan.

It's an evening full of music both fun & touching and concluding perfectly with the show's poignant closer declaring "If Love Were All" while standing center stage and microphone free...the way Barbara - and Wally - surely would've wanted it.

Directed by Eric Michael Gillett with outstanding piano accompaniment by Jon Weber - this show continues to prove why KT Sullivan commands the spotlight in the American Cabaret & Nightclub scene.
