The Fabulous Paula Johns is an accomplished cabaret singer and jazz vocalist who hails from Philadelphia.

Scorsese and DeNiro. Hitchcock and Kelly. Herzog and Kinski. The arts are filled with pairings of creators and the vessels that best fulfilled their visions. To this list, we can add Bacharach/David and Warwick. From 1961 into the '70's, Burt Bacharach with his writing partner Hal David wrote quirky but catchy pop tunes and turned to Dionne Warwick to give them voice. It was a fruitful partnership that created millions of records sold throughout the years.Vocalist, Paula Johns, and with the help of her trio, Musical Director/Piano - Dave Hartl, Andy Lalasis on bass & Grant MacAvoy on drums took these classic tunes and redressed them in "new clothes" for a "new century". They took these tunes, researched them and found the motivation behind the music of Burt Bacharach and what inspired Hal David to write the lyrics to accompany Bacharach's music.Paula remained true to the material, but made the grooves deeper and personalize the voice, finding the meaning at the core of each song. In her new show, she tackles the career of these musical giants, adding side trips to show other aspects of their creative geniuses, Dionne's work with Isaac Hayes and Bacharach's work with Elvis Costello & Carole Bayer Sager, being three obvious examples. She never strays too far away from the original arrangements of Bacharach. You'll hear songs including, A Message to Michael, Anyone Who Had a Heart, What The World Needs Now, Alfie and many more. So, enjoy these classic tunes redressed in new clothes for a new century. You're going to remember all these songs as Paula sings them to you; you just forgot you knew them, that's all. Rediscover them and love them anew.
