NICK THE GREEK: A ONE WOMAN SHOW Gets West Coast Premiere

Angeliki Giannakopoulos' timely, immigrant drama about her father NICK THE GREEK: A ONE-WOMAN SHOW, directed by Amy Chaffee begins its worldwide tour in an exclusive Los Angeles run on February 10, 2018, at the Waco Theater Center in N. Hollywood. After its debut, the production will move to another venue with additional shows through the summer.

Giannakopoulos recently premiered the production at United Solo Theater Festival in Manhattan to standing ovations. She wrote and performs all the characters - her mother, grandmother and even the infamous Nick - in a one-hour personal stage play about her father's journey to the United States. From 'illegal' immigrant to a thriving entrepreneur, Giannakopoulos' homage to her family struggle and father's 40-year search for more is as pertinent today as the story that played out so many decades ago.

"Nick's story is one that needs to be told. It goes behind the politics of immigration to the searing reality of the impact on those who leave and those who are left behind. The American Dream still exists for many but at a great personal cost in the pursuit." Adds Giannakopoulos

In the late 1960's, Nick left Greece, a wife, and three young children to immigrate to America. We follow him through childhood, poverty, WWII, getting married, and sacrificing his life in search for "trees that grow dollars on them." Written & performed by his daughter.

Giannakopoulos and Chaffee will be touring the production in additional U.S. cities and abroad at the completion of the West Coast run.
