McArdle and More Head to Metropolitan Room
By: Victoria Myers
Andrea McArdle headlines for two weeks beginning August 13 and superstars Barb Jungr and Marilyn Maye return the first week of September in overlapping two-week stints as The Metropolitan Room (currently rated Best Cabaret by New York Magazine) brings the summer to an exciting crescendo! Some of the other notable acts showing up between now and the equinox are the jazz phenom Patti
Wicks, stage legend Tammy Grimes, emerging talent Grace Cosgrove, sultry French Tony winner Yvonne Constant, plus the gorgeously matched jazz duo of Stephanie Nackasian and Hod O'Brien.
(Cover $30)The remarkable jazz singer-pianist Patti Wicks enchants with her clairvoyant, idiosyncratic style for a special two-night return engagement (her third) Thursday/Friday September 18 & 19, both at 9:45pm. This sight-challenge New York native travels extensively throughout the East Coast jazz circuit and to Europe, but she's making the Metropolitan Room her New York home. (Cover $20)
