On January 17th, singer/actress Lauren Thomas will take to The Duplex Cabaret Stage for her for New York City solo concert, simply titled, 'A Way Back to Then.'

According to press notes,"A Way Back to Then" takes the audience through Ms. Thomas' younger years, from community theater to summer camp at Stagedoor Manor, all the way to her struggles to become a successful actress in Manhattan. "

Thomas will be joined by some very special guest performers, include Broadway veterans Lauren Kennedy and Liz Larsen as well as composer/lyricist Scott Alan, who will accompany Thomas on a selection from his songbook. 

Actors Charly Seamon and Seth Watsky will also join Thomas for the one night only show.

The 7pm concert will be musically directed and arranged by Michael Larsen.

Lauren Thomas - Lauren is a local New York actress who has appeared in regional productions of "Les Miserables," "My Fair Lady," and "West Side Story." A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, she was most recently seen at Birdland, performing in composers Scott Alan's concert.

Scott Alan - Scott wrote the book, music and lyrics for the musical Detour in Los Angeles. Since returning to New York City five years ago, many of Broadway's elite have sung his music, including Liz Callaway, Shoshana Bean, Adriane Lenox, Stephanie J. Block, Cheyenne Jackson, Eden Espinosa and more, all of which can be found featured on his debut CD Dreaming Wide Awake: The Music of Scott Alan now available on his website and iTunes. He has sold out concerts of his music in New York City at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, The Laurie Beechman Theatre and Birdland and his forthcoming sold out concert in London's West End's The Duchess Theatre. In October 2008, Alan released the follow up CD, Keys, which features more of Broadway and West End elite singing his work, including Sutton Foster, Norm Lewis, Kerry Ellis, Randy Graff, Megan Hilty, Hadley Fraser, Julia Murney and many more.
