FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post, will continue its star-studded Fall 2009 season with the New York debut Melinda Doolittle in her first-ever nightclub engagement from November 17 - 21. The "American Idol" finalist will perform an intimate evening of jazz standards, pop hits and Broadway classics, in addition to selections from her CD, Coming Back To You. All shows are at the Regency Hotel.

Melinda Doolittle, who became a household name on season six of "American Idol," continues to thrill with her debut album, Coming Back To You. Garnering rave reviews from critics, including The New York Times which hailed Melinda as one of the most "phenomenally gifted" in years, Coming Back to You, is a torch-passing musical revelation worthy of the R&B immortals - Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner - with Melinda emerging as our most authentic new ambassador of R&B. Coming Back To You recalls the magic and luster of R&B's classic artists with the lush instrumentation and supple production style of today's pop-soul renaissance. Each of the 13 songs reach back and propel you forward, sublimely blending old-school musical values with an on-the-block emotional currency that only Doolittle can deliver.

Raised in St. Louis, MO and Tulsa, OK, Melinda studied music at Belmont University in the storied music citadel of Nashville. She would eventually perfect her craft as a back-up singer for stars such as Michael McDonald, Aaron Neville, CeCe Winans and Gospel group Anointed, slowly building the necessary vocal confidence to tackle the challenges that lie ahead. Since her time on Idol and her transition into the spotlight, Melinda has wowed audiences everywhere with her big voice and soulful performances, from the White House to the Musicians Hall of Fame, from the Kennedy Center to the Today Show.

Only her spirit outshines her musical accomplishments, as she dedicates much of her time to working with numerous charities, including Malaria No More. Traveling to Africa twice on behalf of this cause, once with former First Lady Laura Bush and second as part of a Presidential Delegation, Melinda believes that education is the key, "Malaria has the potential to be eradicated in our lifetime.

If America knew that one million children die every year from malaria, and that one bed net costs only $10, I believe we could wipe out this preventable disease and give these children a chance at a long and happy life."
