George Takei, Lea Salonga and More Set for AN EVENING WITH JAY KUO, 1/28
Move over 54 Below and Broadway Bound! On Monday, January 28th at 9pm, Darrel Alejandro Holnes & The Lambs Club premiere EMERGING a new Broadway composers cabaret with An Evening with Jay Kuo, composer and lyricist of ALLEGIANCE, a new musical making its Broadway debut next season, starring Tony Award winning performer Lea Salonga (LES MISERABLES, MISS SAIGON) and TV and social media icon George Takei (Star Trek).
The musical performance features George Takei and singers Kit Farrell (INSIGNIFICANT OTHERS), Gaelan Gilliland (9to5, LEGALLY BLONDE, WICKED), Braxton Molinaro (Oklahoma! The TV Movie), and Blair Shepard in concert with Mr. Kuo for an unforgettable evening - full of surprises - at The Lambs Club, 132 West 44th Street. The incomparable Lea Salonga will also be in the house.
Jay Kuo's ALLEGIANCE, a musical set during the Japanese-American internment of WWII, broke box office records at The Old Globe in San Diego, Calif., in 2012, and is already blazing a historic trail for Asian-American theater nationwide. Kuo's awards include a Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Original Script for his second musical INSIGNIFICANT OTHERS. In addition to composing, Kuo is a Broadway producer (CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, AMERICAN IDIOT, SLAVA'S SNOWSHOW).
