Elaine Stritch to be 'At Liberty' Again at the Carlyle

The Carlyle Hotel has announced the return of its resident leading lady Elaine Stritch in Elaine Stritch At Liberty…At The Carlyle.

"For a limited three-week engagement (January 1 through January 19, 2008), Ms. Stritch (with Rob Bowman, Music Director conducting an orchestra) will reprise her critically-acclaimed one-woman Broadway show, a musical evening that traces her career, including roles in Company, The Little Foxes, Bus Stop, A Delicate Balance, Sail Away and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. The show received a 2002 Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event, as well as two Drama Desk Awards — Outstanding Solo Performance for Stritch and Outstanding Book of a Musical for Stritch and John Lahr," state press notes.

Elaine Stritch At Liberty…At The Carlyle will play Tuesday, January 1, 2008 through Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 8pm.  There is a $125 music charge for all performances.  Dinner is required and will be served from 6:30pm. 

The 2007/08 Café Carlyle season will open on September 18 with the legendary Eartha Kitt who plays an engagement through October 27.  Vocalist Steve Tyrell will be in residence from October 30 through December 31.  Following Stritch, Judy Collins will warm up the room from January 22 through March 1. Woody Allen will play his weekly Monday evening gig with the Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band from September 17 through December 11.
