Condola and the Stoop Kids is a NYC based band formed by actress/singer Condola Rashad (Romeo and Juliet, The Trip to Bountiful, Stick Fly, Ruined) in 2012. Since then the band has played in some of New York City's greatest venues including Joes Pub, SOBs, Mercury Lounge, and a month residency at Pianos. Preferably considered a "rock band", Condola and the Stoop Kids have found a sound that inclusively explores many genres and styles with influences from No Doubt, Lauryn Hill, Alanis Morisette, Stevie Wonder and Tina Turner. The band includes singers Vanjah Boikai, Injoy Fountain, Kristina Nicole Miller with a four-piece band helmed by Peter Rodriguez, Matt Rignanese, Scott Thomas Ferreira, and Jacob Boulay.

Condola and the Stoop Kids have celebrated the release of their debut album entitled "The Letter 9". The album includes songs written by Condola, featuring the singles "Save" and the title song "The Letter 9". The album can be purchased on iTunes and Amazon.

Condola and the Stoop Kids will perform Sunday, September 14th at Pianos located at 158 Ludlow St. The performance starts at 11pm. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at www.pianosnyc.com.

Rashad most recently starred on Broadway in Romeo and Juliet opposite Orlando Bloom as the title ingénue. She has been nominated for two Tony Awards including Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play (Stick Fly, The Trip to Bountiful) and won a Theatre World Award for her turn in Lynn Nottage's Pulizter Prize winning play Ruined.
