Following a critically acclaimed run at London's Bush Theatre, Olivier nominated actress and writer CUSH JUMBO (The River, Julius Caesar, "Getting On") brings her "tour de force" (Times) one-woman show JOSEPHINE AND I to the Public Theater. A "dazzling, exhilarating" (The Guardian) performance featuring swinging jazz and ragtime rhythms, this theatrical event directed by Tony nominee PHYLLIDA LLOYD (Julius Caesar, Mary Stuart, The Iron Lady, Mamma Mia!) interweaves a modern day story of an ambitious young woman with the fascinating life of the peerless, fearless Josephine Baker - first African-American performer to rise to international prominence, a French Resistance spy and civil rights activist, and muse to Pablo Picasso, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway.

Champagne Jerry, also known as Neal Medlyn, is a rapper and performance artist who, along with his main producer, Max Tannone and his onstage entourage, the Champagne Club, seek to transform the world every single time they hit the stage. Champagne Jerry has worked with Ad-Rock of the Beastie Boys, Kathleen Hanna, Bridget Everett and has performed all across the country, including several Wal-Mart parking lots. Possessing a "unique swagger" (Interview Magazine), Champagne Jerry has released a full-length album entitled For Real, You Guys, comprising pieces that are "established, playful and catchy."

Marieke Hardy and Michaela McGuire bring their bestselling Australian literary salon, Women of Letters to New York as a monthly event and celebration of a diverse range of strong female talent. In a world of the short and swift, of texts and Twitter, Women of Letters pay homage to the most civilized of activities-- letter-writing. Hosted by Sofija Stefanovic in collaboration with BanterGirl, New York's best and brightest writers, entertainers and artists perform a reading of a letter they've written to the evening's theme, A Letter To The Night That Changed Me. Guests for March 2015 include Caroline Aaron*, Larisa Oleynik, Suki Kim, Maeve Higgins, Rachel Antonoff, Phoebe Robinson.

Proceeds from Women of Letters shows are donated to charity, with over $500,000 being raised globally to date. NYC events benefit the New York Women's Foundation.

*Unfortunately, due to a death in her family, Kathleen Turner will not be able to appear on this night. Revered actress and producer Caroline Aaron will be taking her place.

AIMEE DEBEER

Aimee deBeer was born in South Africa, grew up in Texas, and currently lives in New York City. Her songwriting is drawn from her experiences of arriving and leaving; the difficult task of choosing which fork in the road is worth taking, and reckoning with the fear that what's to come might not always be better than what's left behind. DeBeer's upcoming EP Strange Fiction, relies on analog synths, electric guitar, and vampy, lush harmonies to construct an introspective and surreal waking dream.

Nora Jane Struthers and the Party Line celebrates the February 2015 release of their latest album Wake, praised by Stephen L. Betts of Rolling Stone Country for its "evolved blend of roots and rock with plenty of fiddle and steel guitar, [where] Struthers' lyrical vulnerability is matched by her growing confidence as a performer." For Struthers, it is "wake" in several senses of the word: the trailing slipstream of a life and career behind her, the quiet observance and letting go of who she has been until now as an artist and a person, and most of all, the opening of a door rush forward into a place of discovery and dizzying possibilities.

Making their NYC debut, Dead Combo invoke the ghost of Ennio Morricone, the soul of fado and the post-modern irony of Nick Cave. On stage, the duo, Tó Trips and Pedro Gonçalves, play two characters that could have come from a comic book: an undertaker and a gangster. Their distinct sound is influenced by folk, Americana, blues, rock, Mexican and Brazilian music and Portuguese fado mixed into a cauldron of reverberating guitars, film references, Cuban jazz, flamenco, and spaghetti Western scores. After appearing in Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" segment of Lisbon, they climbed the iTunes USA World Music Chart up to the Top 10 with 3 of their albums. Dead Combo, who constantly sell out in Portugal have performed in England, France, Germany, Austria, Mexico, Brazil and Macau, and will see France, Germany, US, Canada and Russia this year. Their music has been consistently synched to documentaries, films and television including the film, Focus (featuring Will Smith).

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed variety show, hailed as "rambunctious, uproarious and unpredictable" by The Wall Street Journal, "delicious and delightfully droll" by The New York Post, and "hilarious and sardonic" by The Village Voice, has returned to its downtown roots this year for another season of shows. This month's theme is The Little Mermaid. The Meeting* - known for a signature blend of outrageous comedy, politics, culture and everything in between - was named among the Top Nightclub Shows of 2013 by Time Out New York, a 2013 MAC Award for Show of the Year and received the 2012 Bistro Award for "Comedy Artistry." Justin Sayre - the show's creator, writer and host - serves as the Chairman of the Board of the International Order of Sodomites, and gathers guest stars such as Lea DeLaria, Justin Vivian Bond, Bridget Everett, Robin Byrd, Tonya Pinkins, Joe Iconis, Marilyn Maye, Christian Campbell, Frank DeCaro, Lance Horne, Lady Rizo, Tituss Burgess, Maude Maggart, Jack Ferver, Murray Hill, Jeffery Self, Cole Escola and more to honor an artist or a cultural work that is iconic to the gay community.

Cynthia Nixon features as Emilia in Shakespeare's Othello. Known famously as a play about race and jealousy, Othello is also a play about sexual politics. Public Forum puts Desdemona and Emilia, two of Shakespeare's greatest creations, center stage for a timely look at gender roles throughout the ages.
PUBLIC FORUM, now in its fifth season, presents the theater of ideas: performances and conversations that explore dramatic literature as a way to understand society. Curated by Jeremy McCarter, this series of conversations and performances features leading voices in politics, media, and the arts.

DREW BRODY: EMBER EP RELEASE CONCERT

Drew Brody, singer/songwriter and musical theater composer/lyricist, brings his blend of folk and storytelling songwriting to Joe's Pub for a one night only celebration of the release of his new EP, Ember, his second solo release on Baskethouse Records. In addition to his solo recordings, Brody also recorded two albums with the rock band M-LAB and produced two records for singer/songwriter Jay Brannan. He wrote the music and lyrics for Cutman: A Boxing Musical, produced by Goodspeed Theaters (2011), as well as Derma, which ran at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in 2013, and has four other musicals currently in development. Brody's unique background allows him to work comfortably across many genres, and his songs have been sung by Broadway stars including Alan Cumming, Robert Cuccioli, Emma Hunton, Sally Mayes, and more!

MICHAEL SACKLER-BERNER

New York City-native Michael Sackler-Berner's music has appeared regularly in shows such as Sons of Anarchy and Law and Order. He has played alongside Henry Geller, ZZ Top, and currently works with Liberty DeVitto (drummer for Billy Joel) in their band the Slim Kings. Sackler-Berner's new pieces, which caught the attention of Marshall Crenshaw, represent a lyrical maturity for the singer. "They're clear to me," he says. "The language is clear; it's not ambiguous teenage poetry. If it's a song about a cheating partner or somebody not living up to their potential, it's in there. No bullshit metaphors." He laughs. "No 'your love is like an ocean.'"

Daniel Koren is an Emmy-nominated comedian/composer based in Brooklyn, New York. Upon graduating from Berklee College of Music, Koren moved to NYC and has been composing music for TV, and directing commercials and music videos. His innovative musical-comedy work with the Koren Ensemble, gained excessive popularity and received more than a million views on YouTube. Koren is currently on tour with "The Most Important Thing," a musical comedy live show, with a choir of his alter egos projected on a screen.

ENID ELLEN'S RAISIN GIRL: A CELEBRATION OF TORI AMOS

Channeling Mother Nature, David Mramor is Enid Ellen, accompanied by singer-songwriter/pianist Greg Potter. The pair brings a raw intensity to their performance: mixing alternative ballads, acapella and glam rock. Enid's intense ceremonial performance has drawn warm support from the downtown crowd, including John Cameron Mitchell and Starsky and Cox. On this night, they pay homage to their hero, their goddess Tori Amos. Joining them are Bridget Barkan, Nicholas Gorham, Halina Larsson, Brett Every, Natti Vogel, Beth Braddock on drums, Kissey and Eric Schmalenberger!

Proceeds from the show will go to RAINN- Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network.
