Whitney Houston's THE BODYGUARD will be shown in U.S. theaters throughout the country on today in celebration of the film's 20th anniversary.

The film starred Houston as a reknown singer who hires a former Secret Service agent, played by Kevin Costner, to serve as her bodyguard and protection from obsessed fans. The 1992 movie was the second-highest grossing film worldwide and the soundtrack became the best-selling soundtrack of all time, selling over 42 million copies throughout the world. Among the songs on the album were  "I Will Always Love You," "I'm Every Woman", "I Have Nothing", "Run to You,"  and "Queen of the Night."

The movie will be shown in 400 select theaters nationwide at 7:30 p.m. local time on March 28th. In addition to marking the film's 20th anniversary, the showing will also serve as a memorial to the late singer who died last month in Beverly Hills, CA at the age of 48.

Co-star Kevin Costner spoke at Houston's funeral last month commenting, "A lot of leading men could’ve played my part. But you, Whitney, I truly believe you were the only one who could’ve played Rachel Marron at that time. You weren’t just pretty, you were as beautiful as a woman could be. And people didn’t just like you, Whitney, they loved you.”
