VIVA ELVIS Cast Members Perform on 'So You Think You Can Dance,' 7/1

By:

Cast members from Viva ELVISTM by Cirque du Soleil® at ARIA Resort & CasinoTM in Las Vegas will perform live on "So You Think You Can Dance" in Los Angeles on July 1. "So You Think You Can Dance" airs on FOX at 9pm PST.

The Viva ELVIS performance will feature twenty dancers and acrobats performing a specially choreographed version of the Return to Sender number. Choreographers Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo have created a new arrangement of the act to suit the "So You Think You Can Dance" stage.

Cirque du Soleil, in partnership with Elvis Presley Enterprises, a CKX, Inc company, celebrates Elvis Presley with a harmonious fusion of dance, acrobatics and live music in Viva ELVIS at ARIA Resort & Casino at CityCenter. Created in the image of The King of Rock ‘n' Roll - powerful, sexy, truly unique and larger than life - the show highlights an American icon who transformed popular music and whose image embodies the freedom, excitement and turbulence of his era.

Since its world premiere on February 19, 2010, Viva ELVIS has been heralded by critics as a sure-fire hit that is here to stay in Las Vegas. TIME Magazine called it "symphonic and in every way fantastic," while the Los Angeles Times said it features "breathtaking acrobatics" and "imaginatively reimagined music." The Hollywood Reporter also hailed Viva ELVIS as a "triumph" and the Toronto Star affirmed it as nothing short of "90 minutes of high-powered entertainment."

From a group of 20 street performers at its beginnings in 1984, Cirque du Soleil is now a major international organization providing high-quality artistic entertainment. Since its founding, Cirque du Soleil has thrilled over 100 million spectators in close to 300 cities on five continents. In Las Vegas, Cirque du Soleil has a privileged partnership with MGM Resorts International to create and present unique and innovative productions. In addition to Viva ELVIS, these productions include Mystére at Treasure Island, "O" at Bellagio, Zumanity, the Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil at New York-New York Hotel & Casino, KÀ at MGM Grand, The Beatles LOVE at The Mirage and Criss Angel Believe at Luxor.
