GLEE's Mike O'Malley stopped by this week's ELLEN to talk about tonight's special and very emotional episode titled 'The Quarterback,' and how the cast dealt with The Challenge of bringing the loss of their friend Cory Monteith to the show. Check out the appearance below!

"Cory Monteith was a great guy, he was my step-son on the show," explained O'Malley, "and I think that the writers have taken this incredible task which was to write a story about a character who has passed away and yet honor the actor and really show the audience the love of the cast and the crew."

Set entirely in Lima, Ohio, home of fictional McKinley High, where Hudson enjoyed four years as star quarterback, the tonight's episode of Glee opens with the news of the athlete's death before going on "to focus on all the characters remembering and mourning him, and celebrating his life."

Included in the set list will be:

*Seasons Of Love (Rent)
*I'll Stand By You (The Pretenders)
*Fire and Rain (James Taylor)
*If I Die Young (The Band Perry)
*No Surrender (Bruce Springsteen)
*Make You Feel My Love (Bob Dylan, covered by Adele)
