Universo Kicks Off Production of Season Two of Original Scripted Series EL VATO

UNIVERSO, the fastest Spanish-language entertainment cable network in the U.S., announced today the official production kick off of the second season of its original scripted series EL VATO. The 13-episode series slated to premiere this summer is a production of UNIVERSO and Endemol Shine Latino produced by Boomdog. Fans can look forward to seeing El Vato and his entourage in more fun filled adventures as they encounter challenges in the cut-throat music industry...and for all music lovers stay tuned because this season has a lot of surprises in store."

On this new season, the scripted-dramedy inspired by music star El Dasa'sincredible real LIFE STORY follows El Vato (Dasa) and his friends as they continue fighting for their dreams in Los Angeles, in pursuit of a coveted spot in the Regional Mexican music world. After signing a contract, El Vato realizes he is trapped. Lolo Lozada (Horacio Castelo) the owner of his contract, only signed him to stop him from competing with other 'norteño' singers in his record company. El Vato's friends, as usual will accompany him on these adventures. El Vato will have to face people who want take him down, juggle various love interests and do the impossible to continue moving forward with his friends.

"El Vato" stars Dasahev López (El Vato), Cristina Rodlo (Mariana), Gustavo Egelhaaf (El Pollo), Ricardo Polanco (Brandon), Arcelia Ramírez (Tía Eli), Mauricio Martínez (Marcos), Horacio Castelo (Lolo), Giancarlo Vidrio (Joey) and Sebastián Ferrat (Filiberto Cisneros).
