TV Presenter Monty Hall Passes Away Age 96

The New York Times reports that TV presenter Monty Hall has passed away at age 96. His death was confirmed by his daughter, Broadway and screen actress Joanna Gleason.

Hall is best known as the co-creator and host of the popular television game show "Let's Make A Deal," which premiered in 1969.

The Canadian announcer/host began his career in radio, then transitioned to television when he moved to Los Angeles. He is the recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, an Order of Canada for his humanitarian work, a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award, and he is a member of the American TV Game Show Hall of Fame.

Hall is survived by his two daughters Tony Award winner Joanna Gleason and TV executive Sharon Hall, his son Emmy Award winner Robert, his brother Robert Hall, and five grandchildren. Hall's wife of 70 years Marilyn passed away in June.
