Barbara Walters made her triumphant return to ABC's The View yesterday after overcoming the ill effects of a bad fall, followed by a bout of the chicken pox. Upon her return, the host shared that a "well-known actor" had given her chicken pox but did not reveal the star's identity until today.

On this morning's show, Walters confirmed that the actor was Frank Langella, as had been reported earlier by the New York Daily News. The 75-year-old 'Frost Nixon' star had coincidently dated View co-host Whoopi Goldberg in 1996 when the two met on the set of their film 'Eddie.' The couple remained together until March of 2001.

Walters said that she shared a New Years "hug and kiss" with Langella during a party in Miami and that unbeknownst to her, he was about to come down with a serious case of shingles. She explained that chicken pox can be transferred by someone with shingles and said this is how she caught the illness.
