The Syfy Saturday Original Movie Swamp Shark gobbled up more than 2.2 million total viewers along with 773,000 Adults 18-49 -- the most in that demo for a Saturday Original Movie since the September 2010 telecast of Sharktopus.

During its premiere on Saturday, June 25, from 9-11PM (ET/PT). Swamp Shark also consumed 924,000 Adults 25-54 -- the highest delivery since the March Saturday Original Movie Battle of Los Angeles -- while averaging a 1.6 household rating.

For 8-11 PM prime, Swamp Shark placed #6 among primetime cable telecasts in Adults 25-54 and #9 in Adults 18-49.

The movie powered Syfy to #3 in primetime for Adults 25-54 and #5 in Adults 18-49, among cable networks.

In Swamp Shark, a killer shark is illegally released into a river in a remote Louisiana town. The crooked sheriff responsible blames a local family, who must battle the swamp shark (with the help of a mysterious stranger) to clear their names and prevent more townspeople from being torn to shreds. Swamp Shark featured Robert Davi (Die Hard), Kristy Swanson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), D.B. Sweeney (The Event) and Baseball Hall of Famer Wade Boggs. The movie was a production of Bullet Films.
