Sony/ATV Music Publishing has teamed up with artist manager Charles Chavez and his company Latium Entertainment to launch a music publishing joint venture.
The new partnership pairs the world's No. 1 music publisher with one of the industry's most successful talent managers. L.A. based Chavez has previously looked after acts such as Pitbull, Chamillionaire, Frankie J and Baby Bash, while his current roster includes MAGIC!, Danny Mercer, Heymous Molly, Benj the Rapper and new signings Shy Carter and Kat Dahlia. Chavez and Latium's tie-up with Sony/ATV follows them launching in February this year a label joint venture with Sony Music International with distribution from RCA Records. Martin Bandier, Sony/ATV Chairman and CEO, said: "It's only natural having worked closely with Charles while he looked after Pitbull, one of our most renowned artists, that we would want to continue our relationship with him. Charles will find hit artists and help them to have hits."Danny Strick, Sony/ATV Co-President, U.S., said: "Charles has an undeniable talent and energy for developing and breaking artists. We are very excited to be working with him to build his brand in the world of music publishing."
Sony/ATV Music Publishing, established in 1995 as a joint venture between Sony and Michael Jackson, is the world's leading music publisher.
