As the general election season heads into the final stretch, Republican Vice Presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., joins George Stephanopoulos, Sunday on THIS WEEK. President Obama went on offense in his convention acceptance speech this week, defending his record and asking Americans for four more years in office. Did he convince voters that he deserves a second term? Or will the latest disappointing jobs report, showing just 93,000 jobs added in August, undermine the president's re-election message? Can Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan make the case for their own policies to spur the economy and win over undecided voters?

Then, the "This Week" powerhouse roundtable debates the Republican and Democratic conventions and the latest in the 2012 Presidential contest with Newark Mayor Cory Booker, co-chair of the Democratic platform committee, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., author of the new book, Government Bullies, ABC News' George Will, ABC News' Cokie Roberts and Nobel Prize-winning New York Times columnist Paul Krugman. As the party conventions conclude with less than two months until Election Day, which Presidential ticket made the strongest argument for their election in November? Did President Obama's appeal for more time to improve the economy resonate with voters? Or did Mitt Romney sell himself as the candidate to turn around the stalled economy? And as the country faces the 43rd month in a row with joblessness above 8 percent, should the Federal Reserve do more to stimulate the economy?

Plus, "This Week" takes its weekly trip through history in "What Year Was It?" See the whole political picture, Sunday on "This Week."
