Grant Gustin, best known for his role as 'Sebastian Smythe' on GLEE, will officially play superhero The Flash on The CW series ARROW, according to Deadline.

"The character will be as grounded and realistic as possible," co-creator Andrew Kreisberg told Deadline. "That's how we'll get to know him. Then his life will get a bit faster."

The Flash, who has the power of super-speed, is set for a three-episode arc (episodes 8, 9, and 20) introducing his origin story on the upcoming second season of ARROW.

In addition, The Flash, whose real name is Barry Allen, will also star in his own spinoff show. In ARROW, Allen will be Central City assistant police forensic investigator and comic book fan obsessed with the Arrow who finds himself unknowingly working with his favorite hero's alter ego.

23-year-old Gustin has starred on Glee since 2011 and has also appeared on 90210 and CSI: Miami.

Arrow will return to The CW for its second seaon on October 9.
