New Comedies From Cedric The Entertainer & Damon Wayans Jr. Ordered by CBS

According to Variety, CBS has officially ordered two new pilots to series. The first is from Cedric The Entertainer, called WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD. The second is an untitled project from Damon Wayans Jr.

Cedric the Entertainer is set to star and executive produce a brand new pilot for CBS. The comedy is called WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD, and centers on an overtly friendly family from the midwest that moves to a tough area of Los Angeles. The new comedy is directed by James Burrows, and has been written by Jim Reynolds. Cedric the Entertainer will play the neighbor to the Midwestern transplants, named Calvin.

The currently untitled project starring Wayans comes from Austen Earl and Tim McAuliffe, and centers on a couple in their 30s who has a pop star move in with them. Amber Stevens West, Felix Mallard, Stephnie Weir, and Chris Parnell have also been cast. Ben Winston will executive produce, as will HARRY Styles.
