THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE, the successful Warner Bros. sitcom which ran for almost 90 episodes in the US, has been commissioned for the first time as a local version by RTL in Germany. Warner Bros. International Television Production has announced that the eight episode season, to be produced by Polyphon, will premiere in 2013.

Originally produced by Kari Lizer’s Production Company, Kari's Logo Here, in association with Warner Bros. Television the half-hour comedy series ran on CBS for five seasons from 2006 in the US.

“We are delighted that RTL has seen the potential for the The New Adventures of Old Christine in Germany and are confident that their viewers will enjoy the show as much as the US audience did. This is the first Warner Bros. scripted format to be commissioned in Germany and we’re delighted to be working with Polyphon on the production” said Andrew Zein, Senior Vice President, Creative Format Development and Sales.

The show features divorced working mom Christine Campbell as she juggles the daily stresses and conflicts of motherhood and her business. She gets along with her charming ex-husband, Richard, even better than when they were married. But Christine's life got a lot more complicated with Richard's new girlfriend around: a nice, young, impossible-to-hate woman also named Christine...the "new" Christine.

Warner Bros. International Television Production
Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) aims to establish or acquire production companies in the major television territories around the world in order to become a leading producer of local scripted and non-scripted programming.

In those territories where WBITVP establishes a production base, it operates by developing and producing original programming and also producing local versions of formats owned and controlled by the group such as “The Bachelor”, “The World’s Strictest Parents” and “Who Do You Think You Are?” Where WBITVP has no local production capability it licenses Warner Bros. formats to 3rd parties.

WBITVP has already taken significant steps by acquiring a majority stake in UK production group Shed Media, one of the UK’s largest and most successful independent production companies, which operates both in the UK and the US. Most recently it has acquired a majority stake in BlazHoffski Holding B.V., a leading independent television producer in The Netherlands and Belgium.
