NBC's TODAY Tightens Ratings Race with GMA

NBC's TODAY continues to gain momentum posting the largest season-to-season growth among the morning news programs in total viewers. Through the week of July 7, TODAY gained nearly 350k in total viewers versus last season. TODAY also posted growth in the key demos A25-54 and A18-49.
During the first two weeks of the third quarter, TODAY narrowed the total viewer gap with GMA versus the same period last year. Season-to-date, TODAY ranks as the #1 morning news broadcast in all A18-49 ratings. TODAY HIGHLIGHTS: TODAY averaged 4.038 million total viewers, +42% (+1,193,000) ahead of CBS This Morning TODAY delivered 1.483 million A25-54 viewers, +84% (+679,000) more than CBS TODAY's 1.2 A25-54 rating beat CBS by +71% (+5 tenths) TODAY averaged 1.188 million A18-49 viewers, more than doubling CBS by +121% (+651,000)TODAY's 0.9 A18-49 rating led CBS by +125% (+5 tenths) For the first two weeks of 3Q, TODAY narrowed the total viewer gap with GMA versus last year by 3% TODAY continues to deliver the largest morning news growth versus last season in total viewers, increasing +7% or +346,000 viewers. TODAY is also posting increases versus last season in rating W/M/A18-49 (+13%/+13%/+18%), and rating W/A25-54 (+5%/+6%)
