NBC's CHICAGO P.D. Equals Its Regular-Slot High Since January 2017

NBC wins the highly competitive night in total viewers. CHICAGO P.D. (1.3/5 in 18-49, 6.8 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) is close to rounding up to a 1.4 (currently reporting a 1.348 in these prelim fast-affiliate ratings). Equals the show's highest regular-slot 18-49 rating since Jan. 18, 2017 (1.5) and scores its second biggest overall viewership for a regular-slot telecast since that same date nearly a year ago. Increases by +8% versus its previous episode four weeks ago in 18-49 (1.3 vs. 1.2 on Dec. 6) and +4% in total viewers (6.780 million vs. 6.517 million). Wins the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and every other key measure. Has won the slot or tied for #1 versus regular ABC and CBS competition with its last 26 straight original telecasts in adults 18-49 (L+SD), extending back to October 2016. Will add significant viewership via time-shifting and VOD - so far this season, "Chicago P.D." is increasing by +91% in 18-49 rating this season going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 1.15 to a 2.20) and more than +4.1 million viewers overall (6.1 million to 10.3 million).

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.4/5 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) grows +8% versus its prior telecast of four weeks ago in 18-49 (1.4 vs. 1.3 on Dec. 6) and +2% in total viewers (6.287 million vs. 6.176 million) and delivers its second-most-watched episode of the season

It's also the second-most-watched "SVU" since Feb. 8, 2017 (6.9 million), trailing over that span only the Nov. 29 telecast (7.1 million), which benefited from a high-rated lead-in from "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" (1.7 in 18-49, 9.0 million viewers overall). Ranks #2 in the highly competitive timeslot among the Big 4 networks in total viewers. Builds by +40% on its lead-in in 18-49. Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting and VOD - "SVU" has grown by +77% this season in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 1.28 to a 2.22) and +2.9 million viewers overall (5.9 million to 8.8 million).

"The Blacklist" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET): Increases by +11% versus its prior telecast of seven weeks ago in 18-49 (1.0 vs. 0.9 on Nov. 15) and +2% in total viewers (6.006 million vs. 5.892 million). Delivers the show's highest rating since Oct. 11 and most-watched episode since its season premiere on Sept. 27 (6.4 million). Equals the show's second-highest 18-49 rating since Nov. 10, 2016 (1.2 Thursday at 10 p.m.), trailing over that span only the show's Sept. 27 season premiere (1.1). Ranks #2 in the highly competitive timeslot in total viewers. Will grow dramatically via time-shifting and VOD - "Blacklist" is increasing by +74% in 18-49 rating this season going from L+SD to L+7 (0.94 to a 1.64) and +3.1 million viewers overall (5.6 million to 8.7 million). Upscale: "Blacklist" delivers a strong upscale audience, indexing at a 128 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (with 100 representing an average concentration of those homes).

Note that NBC, CBS and CW stations ran ACC basketball in some markets.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Wednesday Night: In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.0/5 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.8/7; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.0/5.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore.

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
