Muse Entertainment has acquired the rights to Amp'd, the debut novel by two-time Emmy award nominated screenwriter and author Ken Pisani. Amp'd is set to be developed as a half-hour premium comedy series with Pisani adapting. Muse Entertainment's latest event television, the miniseries The Kennedys: After Camelot, starring Katie Holmes and Matthew Perry, is in post, while its series Bellevue, a mystery thriller starring Anna Paquin and Allen Leech, began filming this September.

Amp'd, an instant LA Times bestseller, is both heart-rending and humorous, as it tells the story of Aaron, whose life is derailed after a car accident leads to the amputation of his left arm. Not that he was really winning the game of life anyway. Before the accident all he had was a failed marriage and an unrewarding teaching job. Now he has a chance to overcome adversity and become a better man...But he'd rather pop a few Vicodins and smoke a joint.

"It's important to Muse to find points of view that haven't been seen before on television," explains Muse USA President and Executive Producer Joel S. Rice. "Amp'd is a relatable story about feeling incomplete in this world - both figuratively and literally. But Ken reminds us that even when everything in life has gone to hell, there are still plenty of reasons to laugh."

Ken Pisani is an-award winning author, playwright, cartoonist, and screenwriter. He is currently co-writing a feature about the Rwandan cycling team with Oscar-winner David Seidler (The King's Speech). In addition to this novel, Ken recently published a graphic novel entitled "Colonus" with Dark Horse Comics. Ken also wrote the feature adaptation of his original web comic, "Power Groove," an R-rated superhero comedy for Broken Road Productions (Zookeeper, The Sorceror's Apprentice).

Muse Entertainment's Michael Prupas (The Kennedys: After Camelot, Tut) and Joel S. Rice (Signed, Sealed, Delivered, The Aurora Teagarden Mysteries) will serve as executive producers, with Muse's VP of Development Lydia Storie and Director of Development Meghan Mathes helping to oversee the project.
