As friends, family and fans await hopeful news regarding the health condition of legendary comedian Joan Rivers, a source tells the NY Daily News that her daughter, Melissa Rivers, may make face the difficult decision of whether or not her mother should be removed from life support over the weekend.

In a statement released yesterday, Melissa revealed that her mother had been moved out of intensive care and into a private room. "My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support," she said.

In addition, the site reports that the 81-year-old is receiving the 'royal treatment' in her room, including getting her hair and makeup done by professionals and having her room decorated by celebrity wedding planner Preston Bailey with "flowers, bows, plants. "

As BWW reported earlier today, NY health officials have contacted Yorkville Endoscopy, the outpatient clinic where Rivers' procedure to repair her vocal cords resulted in respiratory and cardiac arrest, in order to REVIEW the case.

Rivers stopped breathing while undergoing a minor throat procedure on Aug. 28 in New York City. She was then rushed to the hospital where she was placed in the medically induced coma. Rivers had performed a comedy show at a Times Square theater Wednesday night and was reportedly in good health when she went to the clinic for the procedure.
