
Deadline reports that Marc Munden will be directing Heyday Films and Studiocanal's new adaptation of the classic children's novel The Secret Garden.
Shooting will begin in the spring and casting will begin soon. The script was written by Jack Thorne and the film is fully financed by Studiocanal.
The Secret Garden is based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's 1911 book following Mary Lennox, a troubled orphan sent to live with her uncle in England. Mary discovers a garden on her uncle's estate which turns out to be more magical than she had ever imagined.
Marc Munden is a BAFTA-winning English film director best known for his work on Utopia, National Treasure and The Mark of Cain among others.
