Luke Perry Passes Away at Age 52

Luke Perry has died today after suffering a massive stroke last Wednesday, February 27, according to Deadline. He was 52.

"He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends. the family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time," said his publicist Arnold Robinson in a statement.

Perry's agent also released a statement, reading: "Luke will be missed, a friend gone way too soon. It seems like yesterday that I was Luke's agent negotiating his role on 'Beverly Hills, 90210'. I would like to express my condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time."

Perry is best known for becoming a household name on Fox'sBeverly Hills, 90210, starring as Dylan McCay from 1990-1995 and then reprising his role in 1998-2000. He recently starred as Archie's dad, Fred Andrews, on the CW's Riverdale.

Perry was known in the theater world for playing Brad Majors on Broadway in the 2000 revival of The Rocky Horror Show. In 2004, he starred in the West End production of When Harry Met Sally as Harry, opposite Alyson Hannigan as Sally.

His career began in the 1980s with an arc on the soap opera Another World. While he starred on 90210, Perry won a supporting role in the original film version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also starred in Terminal Bliss in 1992 and was a series regular on the NBC drama Windfall. Perry's other early film credits included 8 Seconds, Normal Life and Riot.

Perry was also a voice actor in series' that included The Incredible Hilk, The Legend of Calamity Jane, Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm and Biker Mice from Mars. He also guested as himself in the 1993 The Simposons episode "Krusty Gets Kancelled."

He also recently filmed a role in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
