Lakeshore Records to Release SMASHED Film Soundtrack 10/9

Lakeshore Records will release the Smashed – Original Soundtrack digitally on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. The album features original music by Andy Cabic (the band Vetiver) and Eric D. Johnson (Ceremony, Nature Calls, the band Fruit Bats) and songs by Richard and Linda Thompson, Smog, La Tentazion and Dark Meat.
"Andy and I share such similar taste to [co-writer/director] James Ponsoldt and (music supervisor) Tiffany Anders that this gig felt like a breeze," described Johnson. "We were more like a rock band, the four of us - very much on the same page and working in tandem on a tight schedule."Eric D. Johnson is an American singer/songwriter and composer, most well known as the front man and sole permanent member of the long-running Sub Pop band Fruit Bats, and as a multi-instrumentalist with The Shins and Califone. His film scores include Max Winkler's Ceremony (2011), Jesse Peretz's Our Idiot Brother (2011) and Todd Rohal's Nature Calls (2012). He is a Gemini who lives in Portland, OR and makes a mean gazpacho.Andy Cabic is a member of the band Vetiver, and a former member of The Raymond Brake. Smashed is Cabic's first feature film.01.
