Eonline.com reports that Kyle Newman has offered his services to direct the upcoming Star Wars spinoff based of of a young Han Solo for free. Original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller bowed out and now Lucasfilm is looking for a replacement to get the film back on track.

Five months into production, Lucasfilm announced that the directors have left the untitled Han Solo origin movie starring Emilia Clarke, Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Joonas Suotamo and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

"Unfortunately, our vision and process weren't aligned with our partners on this project," the Lord and Miller told E! NEWS in a statement. "We normally aren't fans of the phrase 'creative differences' but for once this cliché is true. We are really proud of the amazing and world-class work of our cast and crew."

Lucasfilm president Kathleen KENNEDY called Lord and Miller "talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it's become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we've decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon."

The upcoming film centered on Han Solo, a character from the Star Wars franchise, is in production and being produced by Lucasfilm from a screenplay by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film will be the second Star Wars Anthology film, following 2016's Rogue One. It is a standalone installment, set prior to the events of the original 1977 film, following a young Han Solo. The movie stars Alden Ehrenreich as the titular character, alongside Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Joonas Suotamo. The film takes place in the universe of Star Wars and explores the adventures of Han Solo and Chewbacca, including meeting Lando Calrissian.

The film is scheduled to be released on May 25, 2018.
