Jesse Eisenberg Set for Aaron Sorkin's THE NEWSROOM

As first reported on EW.com, Jesse Eisenberg is set for a voiceover role in the premiere episode of Aaron Sorkin's upcoming HBO drama THE NEWSROOM. Eisenberg starred in the blockbuster film 'Social Network' for which Sorkin won an Academy Award for writing. The series is scheduled to premiere on June 24.

THE NEWSROOM stars Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, Thomas Sadoski and Olivia Munn. It centers on a fictional cable news network and follows the lives of its anchorman, executive producer and newsroom staff. 

Eisenberg has appeared in such films as The Squid and the Whale,  The Education of Charlie Banks Adventureland and the horror comedy Zombieland. In 2010, he played Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network (2010), for which he received a Golden Globe and Academy Award nomination in the Best Actor category. He also starred in Holy Rollers (2010), which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Since then, he has voiced the main character in the animated film Rio, and starred in the comedy 30 Minutes or Less. He will once again voice Blu in Rio 2, which is scheduled for a 2014 release.
