Jena Malone may soon be a part of another blockbuster franchise.

According to Variety, a reporter from Detroit's WILX-10 News sat down with one of the extras from BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, which was recently filming at Michigan State University. The source confirmed that in the film, a female will be playing Robin, aka Carrie Kelly, a redhead.

With the source's confirmation, reports of Malone's appearances on set (coincidentally sporting newly dyed red hair), have leant themselves to the rumor of the actress taking on the role.

The highly anticipated film stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, Ray Fisher, and Scoot McNairy. The DC Comics film will unite the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight for THE FIRST TIME on the big screen.

Directed by Zack Snyder from a script by Chris Terrio, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit theaters on May 6, 2016.

Malone has been acting for over 19 years in independent and blockbuster films. Malone made her movie debut with the film Bastard Out of Carolina (1996), and has appeared in films including Contact (1997), Stepmom (1998), Donnie Darko (2001), Saved! (2004), Into the Wild (2007), and Sucker Punch (2011). In 2006, she made her professional stage debut in the Broadway production of the Tony Award-winning play Doubt. Most recently seen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and soon to be seen in Paul Thomas Anderson's film Inherent Vice. She has been making music for eight years and has self-released two albums as Jena Malone and her Bloodstains.
