An exotic locale, sunny skies, and a new life abroad is what most people dream of when they want to escape. But sometimes, whether it's a short-lived spring break, completely starting life anew or taking a quick trip to get away from things back home for a while, this new lease on life could prove to be a dangerous one. Presenting eight real-life tales of faraway dreams that became bone-chilling realities, PARADISE LOST captures what it's like to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and a long way from home. As eight one-hour episodes, each story relives the nightmare of someone's dream trip gone horribly awry, and tells the tale of how they lived through it all. Investigation Discovery, America's leading investigation network and fastest-growing ad-supported cable network for women 25-54, presents true stories of PARADISE LOST, beginning Wednesday, April 7 at 10 PM (ET).

Each episode of PARADISE LOST guides viewers along the dramatic journey of emotions through the eyes of the person who experienced the trauma. Episodes of PARADISE LOST include:

- Kidnap and Ransom Premieres Wednesday, April 7 at 10 PM ET : Tom Hargrove's dream life in Colombia becomes a nightmare when he is kidnapped by militant teenage rebels high in the Andes mountains and kept in captivity for nearly a year.

- Baby Snatcher Premieres Wednesday, April 14 at 10 PM ET : After following her heart to Mexico, Samantha Lowry discovers fairytales don't always come true. After her playboy fiancé reveals his true colors, Lowry ends up in a desperate six-month cross-border search for her kidnapped newborn.

- High Stakes Bonanza Premieres Wednesday, April 28 at 10 PM ET : Manley Guarducci and his wife enjoy their new life in the Nicaraguan rainforest until he is suddenly abducted by rebel forces who demand $2 million for his return. A high-stakes game of poker coupled with an increasingly desperate Guarducci lends to this intense episode of gambling gone wrong.

- Nightmare in Kenya Premieres Wednesday, May 5 at 10 PM ET : Following the tragic death of her fiancé, Nikki Roberts moves to East Africa to follow her dream of opening a nightclub in paradise. After a few short months, Roberts finds herself pregnant, penniless and imprisoned by what she can only explain as voodoo acts and corruption.
