Randy Jackson, the only remaining original judge on FOX's AMERICAN IDOL, has issued a statement on the recent announcement from co-judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez that they will be leaving the show after two seasons. Tyler announced his exit last Thursday, July 1 while Lopez confirmed her departure on Friday, July 13.

In a statement to Gossip Cop, Jackson commented, "Steven and Jennifer are truly two of the most talented and consummate professionals I've worked with. I was friends with them before we hopped on this crazy journey together and I have no doubt our friendships will continue long after. I will love them for life."

Jackson has not yet shared his own future plans with the singing competition. Recent reports suggest that he may be interested in taking on a mentoring role when the show returns in 2013.
