Goldentusk Developing Sitcom Through Sundance And YouTube's 'New Voices Lab'
![]()
Following his critically-acclaimed shows, BAD TIMING and POLICE AND QUIET, YouTuber Andy Goldenberg aka "Goldentusk" will be developing a new comedy through the Sundance Institute and YouTube's New Voices Lab.
The YouTube-funded initiative was designed to support a group of creators developing scripted short-form episodic content for digital platforms through various workshops, creative meetings, and mentorships. Goldenberg will be joined by popular YouTubers Jack Howard and Dean Dobbs of Jack and Dean and Sean and Sinéad Persaud of Shipwrecked Comedy, as well as comedy writer Charla Lauriston and eight other writing teams. (You can check out the 2018 New Voices writers here).
While BAD TIMING just won an Indie Series Award for doing something unique with the zombie genre, Goldenberg's new show, APARTMENT 51, will deal with aliens.
Robert Redford founded the Sundance Institute in 1981 to promote new voices in the industry. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to the discovery and development of independent artists and audiences. Past participants in the New Voices Lab include Anna Akana (from the new Youtube Red series YOUTH AND CONSEQUENCES), Jon Cozart, and the Gregory Brothers.
