Gali Gold Appointed Head of Cinema At the Barbican

The Barbican is very pleased to announce the appointment of Gali Gold as its new Head of Cinema.

Gold brings a wealth of experience from the film sector to the role. She has worked at the Barbican as Film Curator since 2012, and prior to this was Head of Programming at the Birds Eye Film Festival and Artistic Director of the UK Jewish Film Festival. She has been a lecturer in film and media studies, a film conference convenor, Director of the Jerusalem Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, Associate Producer of the Jerusalem International Film Festival and Producer of Docaviv International Documentary Film Festival.

Gali's achievements during her time at the Barbican include leading on many film seasons, most recentlyNevertheless She Persisted as part of the Art of Change season. She is responsible for the ScreenTalks series, offsite cinema programme, and has developed many partnerships including those with Human Rights Watch Film Festival, Women in Film and TV, Shubbak and the Goethe Institute. She will begin her new role with immediate effect.
