Gaius Charles Joins Cast of GREY'S ANATOMY

TVLine.com reports that Gaius Charles has joined the cast of ABC's medical drama GREY'S ANATOMY. The actor will have a recurring role in the show's upcoming ninth season.

While full details of the actor's role have not been disclosed, he will reportedly play a young doctor at the show's Seattle Grace Hospital, which last season experienced the departure of two major staff members. 

Charles' theater credits include Lower Ninth, Broke-Ology, and The Public Theater's 2009 production of Othello, opposite Philip Seymour Hoffman, John Ortiz, and Jessica Chastain.<


The actor is best known for his role as Brian "Smash" Williams on NBC's 'Friday Night Lights'. He was recently seen on TV on ABC's 'Pan-Am', and CBS's  'NCIS.' Last month, he began a major story arc in the USA Network series 'Necessary Roughness.'
