While William McKinley High substitute teacher Holly Holliday, played by guest star Gwyneth Paltrow would often butt heads with Jane Lynch's Sue Sylvester, it appears that the duo have made amends and plan to team up for a very special project in an upcoming episode of FOX's GLEE.

In an interview with Access Hollywood this week, Glee creator Ryan Murphy revealed that the reason that Holly and Sue have been seen on the show's set wearing tracksuits is because they will be among the contestants for a fictional season of CBS's 'The Amazing Race.'

"[They're wearing the tracksuits] because, on the show, Sue Sylveseter and Gwyneth's character try out for the Amazing Race," Ryan shared. "It's fun."

Holliday will be among the characters returning for Glee's upcoming 100th episode. The last Glee fans saw of the character was in Season 2 when she said 'au revoir' to teach French in Cleveland.

About the show:

Glee is a musical comedy about a group of ambitious and talented kids who escape the harsh realities of high school by joining a Glee club, where they find strength, acceptance and, ultimately, their voice. Last year's graduates and aspiring singers, RACHEL BERRY (Lea Michelle) and KURT HUMMEL (Chris Colfer), packed their bags for New York and enrolled at a prestigious performing arts school, NYADA, where they made new friends and learned the cruel realities of college. These naïve freshmen moved into a Brooklyn loft, signed up for internships, auditioned for Broadway shows and gained a roommate when SANTANA LOPEZ (Naya Rivera) moved to the Big Apple.

Since its debut, Glee has become a bona fide cultural phenomenon, received prestigious honors, including a Golden Globe Award and a Peabody Award, and singlehandedly made Glee clubs cool again. The series boasts critical acclaim, a die-hard fan base, two Grammy Award nominations, two platinum and five gold albums, more than 43 million songs and more than 13 million albums sold worldwide, two sold-out concert tours, a 3-D movie and four Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes, including the award for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical.

GLEE has attracted A-list guest stars, from Gwyneth Paltrow to Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker. This season, Demi Lovato (THE X FACTOR) guest-stars as "Dani," a New York-based struggling artist and friend of Rachel and Santana's.
