According to published reports, at today's Comic-Con, Screen Gems welcomed Sam Raimi and Neil Druckman, creator of Naughty Dog's hit horror video game THE LAST OF US, to a panel to discuss the upcoming film adaptation.

Raimi, who is producing the project, with Druckmann on screenplay duties, confirmed that GAME OF THRONES' Maisie Williams is currently in talks to take on the role of the young survivor 'Ellie.' Deadline writes that Williams is intent on taking the role, reporting that she was interested in attending the panel - despite the fact that a deal isn't done - but prior GOT commitments kept her away.

At this point, there are no details on who might portray the lead role of 'Joel,' though fans have made it clear Hugh Jackman and Josh Brolin remain their favorites.

"It's gonna be a great character journey," Raimi said today. "a great love story, and great horror fiction."

The rich and visceral story of The Last of Us, which was released in June of 2013, follows hardened survivor, Joel, and Ellie, a young and capable girl, on their journey through a radically transformed world. The post-apocalyptic video game also took home 10 wins at this year's Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences D.I.C.E. Awards - including Game of the Year, Outstanding Innovation in Gaming and Character Performance. Additionally, The Last of Us also won a Writers Guild of America award for "Outstanding Achievement in Writing for Video Games" and leads nominations for the British Academy of Film and Television Video Game (BAFTA) Awards with 10.
