As first reported on Deadline.com, Dakota Johnson is set for the starring role in the upcoming FOX comedy pilot NED FOX IS MY MANNY. The role was originally to be played by SNL's Abby Elliot who was reportedly released from the pilot after the table reading.

The actress joins previously announced cast members Nat Faxon and Maggie Jones. The role marks the TV debut for the actress who is the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith. NED FOX IS MY MANNY tells the story of "an uptight single mother (Johnson) whose aimless brother (Faxon) moves in to help raise her daughter (Jones)."

Johnson has appeared on the big screen in The Social Network and the Sundance comedy Goats, and currently stars in 21 Jump Street. She will next be seen in the Nick Stoller/Judd Apatow comedy The Five-Year Engagement.
