According to the Hollywood Reporter, Colin Ford, star of Disney's JAKE AND THE NEVER LAND PIRATES, has been cast in the upcoming CBS summer series UNDER THE DOME. The actor will portray teenager Joe who resides in Chester's Mill, the series small New England town that is "suddenly and mysteriously sealed off by an enormous transparent dome."

The series, based on the novel by Stephen King, tells the tale of "residents in the Community as they deal with the postapocalyptic conditions while searching for answers as to what the barrier is, where it came from and when -- and if -- it will go away." Joe soon learns that he has been separated from his parents who are on the other side of the dome.

UNDER THE DOME will be produced by CBS Television Studios along with Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television. Neal Baer (A GIFTED MAN, LAW & ORDER: SVU), King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider and Brian K. Vaughan (Y: THE LAST MAN, LOST) will serve as executive producers. Niels Arden Oplev will helm the first episode.

Ford lends his voice to the role of Jake in Disney's JAKE AND THE NEVER LAND PIRATES. The third season of the series is set to begin in February. His film credits include WE BOUGHT A ZOO, PUSH and EYE OF THE HURRICANE. His television apperances include the CW's SUPERNATURAL, Fox's Family Guy and THE MOB DOCTORS.

UNDER THE DOME will premiere on Monday, June 24 at 10 p.m.
