Super Channel is pleased to announce that FIGHT XCHANGE, a ten-part documentary series that follows the world's best young MMA fighters as they live, train and fight in a foreign country, will return for a second season on Monday, January 16 at 7:30 p.m. ET (SC1). Each half-hour episode will also be available to viewers on Super Channel On Demand the day following its linear broadcast.

While fighters from 2013's Fight Xchange Season 1: Canada & Brazil have since gone on to fight for UFC World Titles, Fight Xchange Season 2: Canada & Japan promises to catapult the careers of some of the sports most talented prospects to even higher heights.

The nation of Japan is synonymous with the Samurai - ancient warriors sworn to uphold the bushido code, placing loyalty, courage, compassion and honour, above all else. In more recent times, it is seen as the contemporary home to martial arts, having produced some of MMA's greatest champions, while also hosting some of the sport's most legendary events.

While the nation of Japan put the sport of MMA on the map, it is the country of Canada which could lay claim to being the world's foremost home to fight fanatics. Perhaps it is the simplicity of the sport that speaks to this nation of immigrants - people united by the excitement of two fighters meeting in the cage, but only one left standing.

Fight XChange 2 follows the lives of eight fighters - four from Canada and four from Japan - as they unite under one banner, with one common goal: victory. Audiences will follow these eight fighters as they travel to the opposing country, to live and train together, as they prepare for the biggest battles of their young careers. We watch as they become friends and team mates, on a journey that will change them all, forever.

"Fight Xchange has become a platform unlike any other for young fighters to showcase their skills on an international stage. This season, we feature the best prospects from both Canada and Japan, and our eight fighters most definitely lived up to the hype," says the show's creator, writer, and producer/executive producer, Aaron Avruskin. "I wanted to create something that shows fans and non-fans alike that there's more to MMA than what you see in the cage. I wanted to show the sacrifices, the blood, the sweat and the tears that it takes to make it in the world's most gruelling sport, and I wanted to show that no matter who you are, or what country you're from, martial arts can create lifelong bonds unlike any other."

Filmed within the hallowed halls of AACC Omori Japan and Adrenaline Training Centre in London, ON, season two features a star studded coaching staff, led by Hiroyuki Abe, Sam Stout, Mark Hominick and Chris Horodecki, with guest appearances by legends of the sport, such as Megumi Fuji and Yushin Okami.

Fight Xchange 2 is written, produced, executive produced and created by Aaron Avruskin. Director of Photography is Stuart Cameron. Edited by Joshua O'Connor. The series producers/executive producers are Jatinder Gill, Baljit Gill-Burns and Gursharn Gill.

Fight Xchange 2 is produced in association with Super Channel, and with the financial participation of Rogers Telefund and with the assistance of the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit and the Ontario Media Film and Television Tax Credit
