In an interview with E!Online, pop star Britney Spears revealed that she hopes to return to her acting career in the near future. The singer, who made her film debut in 2002's Crossroads, shared that she'd love to try her hand in a comedy.

"I would love to act. I would love to do movies," says the 'Toxic' singer. "If it was the right part, it would be really cool... I love funny movies."

Spears says that among her recent favorite films are 'We're the Millers,' starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis and the 2011 hit Bridesmaids. "I also love Jennifer Lopez movies," she added. "I love Jennifer Lopez."

The singer has had recent guest appearances on CBS's How I Met Your Mother and the FOX dramedy Glee, which devoted an entire episode to her. Spears recently released her eighth studio album titled Britney Jean.

She also began her two-year residency show 'Britney: Piece of Me' at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Dec. 27. "I'm really stoked about it. I've toured the world so many times and had been in different hotels every night. It's going to be nice just to have one place to be at for my children and my family," she said. "A tour based in one place just seems ideal." 'Britney: Piece of Me' will include a total of 100 shows, 50 in 2014 and 50 in 2015
