Barry Watson to Join The CW's GOSSIP GIRL
TVGuide.com reports that Barry Watson will join the cast of The CW's GOSSIP GIRL for its final season. The actor is set to play 'Steven Spence' described as "a young entrepreneur who will serve as a love interest for troubled Upper West Side It Girl Serena (Blake Lively).
Watson is best known for his role of eldest son Matt Camden on the long-running family drama 7th Heaven. He has also starred in the drama What About Brian and the comedy Samantha Who?
Filmed in New York and based on the popular series of young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, "Gossip Girl" is from Fake Empire and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Josh Schwartz ("Chuck," "The O.C."), Stephanie Savage ("The O.C."), Leslie Morgenstein ("The Vampire Diaries"), Bob Levy ("The Vampire Diaries") and Joshua Safran.
The final season of Gossip Girl premieres on Monday, October 8 at 9/8c on The CW.
