S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra race to find an ancient alien city, but is Coulson ready to sacrifice one of his own in this episode, "Ye Who Enter Here"? Let's jump in. We begin with a dream. Skye (Chloe Bennet) is alone and running. It's all very TWIN PEAKS. May (Ming-Na Wen) and Coulson (Clark Gregg) are there as sort of her parents. There's a baby May and Coulson abandon and a music box that when Skye touches it, she begins to turn to stone. Coulson wakes her up, telling her to grab her things.

Coulson assembles the team and briefs them. Hydra has the alien oblisk and wants to turn it into some kind of weapon. The team needs to beat Hydra to the ancient alien city which Coulson belives is in Puerto Rico, His plan is to get to the temple first and destroy it.

In a coffee shop, we catch up with Raina (Ruth Negga). She is talking with a man about traveling. Agent 33 (still wearing the holographic mask that makes her look like Agent May--but with a scar) has caught up to Raina, though. Whitehall wants to speak to her. Raina runs from the coffee shop. She runs into Agent Koenig (Patton Oswalt). Twice. Though one Koenig was killed last season, there is at least another two of them working for S.H.I.E.L.D. and this is played for comic effect throught tonight's episode.

Koenig tells her to hold on tight and don't move. He opens his umbrella which immediately cloaks the two, allowing them to evade capture. Coulson sends an extraction crew to retrieve them both.

Hydra is waiting, however. Skye gets to show off some of what May has been teaching her as she fights Agent 33 (still looking like May). It's not as cool as some of the choreographed fight scenes we've seen this season.

Raina, meanwhile, realizes that Whitehall doesn't want to kill her, but rather user her (she is one of the few people who can touch the alien object and not die). She runs towards some Hydra agents, but Skye stops her by mowing down the bad guys with a van. Agent 33 radios Whitehall to tell him Raina has a tracker on her.

Coulson and Morse (Adrianne Palicki) land in Puerto Rico. She obtains a map of the old city from a contact. He doesn't want to meet her anywhere near the place, though. Locals believe it is cursed (cue foreshadowing music).

In the underground ancient city, Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) tells Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Mac (Henry Simmons) the legend of the Devil's Sentry. Basically, several guards vanished from the impenetrable fort. The team cuts a hole in the floor and Fitz deploys several dwarf drones to explore it, but the drones malfunction.

Fitz theorizes that none of the electronic equipment will work. Mac decides to go spelunking into the dark cave.

Back on the Bus, Raina tells Skye that only a chosen few can hold the alien object and enter the city. Skye tries to warn the team not to enter the city, but communications aren't working and Mac has already descended down. He sees the dead drones, more of the alien writing and when he touches a stone, it lights up and some of the alien writing transfers to his hand. He starts convulsing. They pull him out of the whole. He tells them to run and then knocks Coulson across the room with new-found super-strength.

Hydra has tracked Raina. Ward boards the plane with planes to take both Raina and Skye with him. Raina tells Skye to be sure to bring her computer tablet --the one with the map of the city on it. So much for the heart-to-heart.

Back on the ground, Morse is finally able to subdue Mac (it takes both of her stun batons to do it). Mac falls into the pit. Coulson orders the team to seal it up with Mac inside.

Final moment: Agent 33 meets with Whitehall (Reed Diamond). She tells him they have both Raina and Skye. Whitehall is upset that Ward did not follow orders to blow up the plane. He orders Agent 33 to shoot it down.

And with that, we are left with a bit of a cliff-hanger as we head into next week's mid-season finale. Comment below and follow me @triggercric and follow @BWWTVWorld for all the latest updates, scoops and recaps.
